Arabica vs Robusta: What's Actually the Difference?

Arabica is the smoother, more delicate of the two: brighter acidity, floral-to-fruity notes, and lower caffeine. Robusta is the opposite instinct — bolder, more bitter, higher caffeine, and a fuller body that holds up under milk or a strong brew. Neither is the better bean — they're built for different jobs in the cup. That difference shows up in how each is best brewed. Arabica's delicate acidity is easiest to actually taste in a clean method like pour-over or filter, where nothing's fighting it. Robusta's strength and body are what make a filter kaapi or espresso-style blend taste strong rather than thin. It also shows up in where we grow them. Our higher-elevation estates — Chikmagalur, Wayanad — lean Arabica-forward, while Coorg contributes both. Blends like our House Blend combine them deliberately: Arabica for aroma, Robusta for backbone. Not sure which suits your taste? Our Coffee Finder quiz will point you to the right bean, roast and grind based on how you actually drink your coffee.
